Thinking of having your birth photographed or filmed? Birth has previously been the one momentous occasion that we have shied away from documenting. We document weddings, birthdays, rituals, but births… not so much. Well that tide is finally turning. Imagine having beautiful, detailed memories of those first moments you welcome this brand new soul into your world.

So what’s it like having a photographer in the room when you’re in labour? With any luck, you won’t even know I’m there. Apart from the gentle click of my shutter I will be quiet as a mouse, keeping out of the way whilst capturing all of the little details- some of which you will be completely unaware of until you see your images after your birth.

Having worked as a doula for many years, I have an intuitive respect and knowledge of the birthing process and know that an undisturbed, well-supported labour is a good labour.
